This proposal seeks support to establish a Community Resource Center dedicated to vulnerable widows and widowers living with HIV and other chronic conditions in Kenya. The center will provide integrated health support, psychosocial services, and economic empowerment programs to restore dignity, improve health outcomes, and strengthen household resilience.
Widowed individuals living with HIV and chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension face compounded challenges including stigma, poverty, poor adherence to treatment, mental health distress, and limited livelihood opportunities. Many are sole caregivers for children and lack sustainable income.
A structured, community-based support system is urgently needed to address these gaps.
Goal
To improve the quality of life, health stability, and economic independence of widows and widowers living with HIV and other chronic conditions.

Counseling services
Monthly support group meetings
Mental health and trauma support
Health & Treatment Support
ART adherence education

1. Background
Many communities in Tanzania, especially in areas where there is a high Muslim population, face significant challenges such as poverty, lack of educational support for youth, limited access to basic needs, and social vulnerability. Many children and young people lack school materials, proper guidance, and support for their daily needs.
Our organization, led by Pastor Robert Kamigwe, is committed to serving these vulnerable communities through humanitarian support, youth mentorship, and community development initiatives. We believe that acts of love, service, and compassion reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ and can build peaceful relationships among people of different faiths.
2. Problem Statement
Many vulnerable young people in our target communities face:
Lack of school supplies and educational support
Poverty and food insecurity
Limited access to basic healthcare and hygiene resources
Lack of mentorship and moral guidance
Limited opportunities for personal and spiritual development
Because of these challenges, many youth grow up without hope, support, or opportunities to improve their lives.
3. Project Purpose
The purpose of this initiative is to support vulnerable youth and families by meeting basic needs while demonstrating Christian love through service and community engagement.
Through practical support and compassionate outreach, we aim to build trust, strengthen communities, and share positive values such as love, kindness, peace, and hope.
4. Objectives
Provide basic support (food, clothing, and school supplies) to vulnerable youth and families.
Create community programs that encourage youth development and positive values.
Promote peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among people of different faiths.
Demonstrate Christian compassion through humanitarian service.
5. Key Activities
Distribution of food and basic necessities to vulnerable families
Providing school materials for children and youth
Youth mentorship and life-skills training programs
Community support programs for widows and vulnerable households
Organizing community service and outreach activities
6. Expected Outcomes
Improved living conditions for vulnerable youth and families
Increased school participation among supported children

We have been a church for 6 years, but at the end of each year we haven't noticed any difference in the work we've been doing because we lack the financial resources to achieve great things.

3. Our members or community are low-income. 97 percent have no monthly income and live by chance.
4. We intend to expand into social services as a church, but we don't do it because of a lack of funds.
